SABISPA welcomes the publication of ICASA’s information memorandum (Government Gazette No: 42820), and notes this as an exciting and critical step towards lower data costs for consumers in South Africa. The industry has a long held view that new spectrum will allow for lowering of mobile data prices - it is for this reason that SABISPA pledges to monitor the Operators on their promise to lower data costs once HDS has been allocation.
